Boating Safety...

The Boating Safety Committee has been instructed by the local TWRA contact, Jim Vaughn, to change the "no wake" buoys to "slow congested area" buoys. These buoys were installed at the entry into the Leatherwood/Heatherwood cove. "Slow Congested Area" sleeves with orange diamond outline are being priced. The Association will continue to appeal for a "no wake" designation. The current slow wake designation requires a speed less than 5 miles per hour.

After-sundown jet skiing activity is being observed in both coves. Please report this and any other dangerous operations to TWRA through the Franklin County Communications number at 967-2331. Tennessee boating laws and regulations can be found @ http://www.state.tn.us/twra/boat.
